Butch in Baguio

Butch Dalisay, who caused some of us to twiddle our thumbs and wiggle our asses when he described our batch as "trouble-free," already wrote about us in his column.
Nick Pichay, who prides in calling himself The Troublemaker, has actually mellowed down. And so are the rest of us. We just consoled ourselves (after being called "troublefree") to being matured enough for histrionics. As Tara Sering said, we would just do trouble with our writings.
Speaking of the charming Tara, she and Luis Katigbak were cited by Butch in the above column. Yay! Way to go!

Have a Nice Day (in Mars)

This picture of a crater resembling a "happy face" was acquired by the Context Camera (CTX) on Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter on January 28, 2008. The unnamed crater is about 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) across. It is located among the Nereidum Montes, north of the Argyre basin, near 45.1°S, 55.0°W. North is toward the right and sunlight illuminates the scene from the upper right.

Well I did have a productive (for once!) week, finishing off five major deadlines without looking like I did belabor (still drinking). Nothing like a day off surfing to start the week. The hard part is the collecting. Haaay. Although one glitch was that one essay I've been working on for four hours just went kaput. At least it's still all in my mind. It's like replaying a chess game after you accidentally nudged off your set.

The Media part of the Presidential Campaign in the Philippines Has Began

Last year during the Media Nation 4 in February, I made the mistake of giving my email address to the staff of the keynote speaker. Yes, he is Sen. Mar Roxas, the LP presidential candidate. Now I get four to five press releases from his staff. I don't know though who gave my email add to Sen. Manny Villar, the presidential candidate of NP. Now I get five stories from Villar everyday. It's not a computer-generated email service where you can hit "DISCONTINUE" and get it over with. So I have to bear with this till 2010. Now I spend a few minutes, deleting them with the spam.

Madame Auring is in Da Hauz!

In the spirit of the Year of the Rat, I will read the fortunes of the first commenters/commentators in this blog. Hey, don't push me off. I was one of the best fortune readers eight years ago. Ask Nonette B and Willi. I jsut stopped because of the bad karma of the ones I read. Plus when I get the travel card in the tarot, I get traumatized because these people really LEAVE me. My methods are reading your intestines after you seppuku. He he. OK, fortune reading by cards and palm reading. Send me your hand or I read your cards. Give me your email or we Googletalk, as long as there are no people walking or standing behind your back. And don't smoke while I read you. Ok? Ok? Free. I don't like anonymous sources.

Ada's Birthday

All of you with Friendster accounts, please greet Ada a happy birthday tomorrow, January 17. She's 11 years old but she was registered as 16. It's complicated. Her friendster address is listed below. Birthday wish is for you to have a great year and be her friend.

Frank Shinawatra

Thaksin is planning to change his name to Frank because Frank Shinawatra is much cooler to listen to than Thakkk-sin. Soem even pronounce it as "Thick skin." Good change. Hope he does not start singing "My Way" though. Take it from me, Frank. I also have that problem. Mostly, children mistake my name for Frank Sinatra. The older ones would not make that mistake, it's almost a sin, Thaksin. At first I was irked but when he died, I began reading books on him and collecting his records. I would begin listening to him at the unholy hours before I can write.

Am I That Good?

Ten people already invited me for GoodTree. GoodTree is fueled by the goodness in people's hearts, the website said. But before I climb the GoodTree (and any candidate for sainthood for that matter), I need to take the test called "Will I Eat My Buddies When Stranded in a Blizzard?" It said that I am 63 percent likely to eat them. The best part is that after taking the quiz, all my friends would be receiving an email to join justsayhi and they would instead start hating me. I also made 11 (out of 15) in an online ethics test. Am I really good?

Apocalypse Now in Quiapo

I was supposed to go to Quiapo last Wednesday not to attend the Black Nazarene procession but to buy DVDs. I went today and got some few obscure movies I'm not particularly excited about (it was raining) except for one. A DVD 9 release of Apocalypse Now. Meaning, it has all the extra features like Marlon Brando reading a T.S. Eliot poem and many others. This is the stupid thing. I wanted to make sure so I asked my Muslim brother to test it. Only then did he know that it was a double-DVD pack so I had to pay P100 instead of P50. So all of you now would have to pay the same price because I made them discover. To make you feel better, here's the whole script of the 1979 version. Which is to say you can get other scripts from the site.

NYE

In the spirit of superstition, Frank Cimatu decided not to drink liquor, gave gifts, shopped earnestly, read and wrote, listened to boring people with interest, greeted enemies like friends, greeted friends with texting only and some other sweet stuff. He thinks he will be that good for 2008. Let's wish him luck in his hypocrisy.
To all my readers, roamers and reactors, I also wish you happiness and grace.

Bublehead

How can you recover your day when the first thing you hear during breakfast is Michael Buble singing "What A Wonderful World." Suddenly my eggs were soggy, the toast damp and everything else seemed to line up my veins with fat. I liked him when I first heard him but somebody has to muffle this guy. Thank God there's still Frank.
