Environmental fellowship available

Early to mid-career journalists from across the globe who are interested in environmental reporting can apply for a week-long science immersion fellowship at the U.S. University of Rhode Island’s school of Oceanography. Deadline for application submission: January 18, 2010.

The fellowship, which will run from June 6 to June 11, 201, will explore the viability of alternate energy sources in mitigating climate change. Field and lab work as well as lectures by prominent environmental researchers will be included.

The Metcalf Institute for Marine and Environmental Reporting is sponsoring the fellowship. Fellows will be granted expenses for tuition, room and board, and some travel funds.
