Eoin

Eoin Colfer was designated by the widow of Douglas Adams to write the 6th installment of the Hitchhiker's Guide Trilogy. Adams said that his last book "Mostly Harmless" was pessimistic and he wanted to finish his book in an upbeat mood. Are we going to give Eoin a chance, Luis?

Hey Frank :) Hmm. Let me quote Eoin Colfer himself: "My first reaction was semi-outrage that anyone should be allowed to tamper with this incredible series."

I enjoyed the Artemis Fowl books well enough, but the idea of *anyone* who is not Douglas Adams writing a Hitchhiker's book is sort of distressing. That said, maybe they should have just hired Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, who achieved a Douglas Adamsian tone on "Good Omens"... although, come to think of it, that was one of the things that prevented me from enjoying "Good Omens" fully: the fact that its voice seemed to have come from another author.

What they really should have done is hired me to write it.
