Tagaytagay
Im in Tagaytay till Friday. The hotel said they have free wifi but they must have meant you can get a wifi signal but you can't get in. Taal Vista has wifi if you pay P700 for one day. The only Internet shop is in Olivares. This is the city that wants to take the "Summer Capital of the Philippines" and even posted disparaging comments on Baguio in their supposedly official website. Hey, it's not cold here. It's just windy.

bakit ngayon mo lang sinabi iyan? pero in fairness masarap ang pinakbet sa kinainan namin
Ages after I got lured away by career opportunities in the Big City and eventually got sucked into the Filipino diaspora, I still call Baguio home. To me though, it has become like the face that only a mother could love. I took a sentimental walking tour when I was there in February and it broke my heart to see how a lot of my childhood haunts have turned into ugly jumbles of disparate structures. But for the flowers, the terrain, and the climate, Baguio has lost much of its charm.
