Reporters and Laptops

When a writer wants to pose as a writer, the props invariably is a typewriter. A computer just don’t hack it. Also because a photojournalist also uses a laptop more often than a writer. I see Malacanang reporters on TV using their laptops during a press briefing and I go, Eeeeew. No class. Of course, in the old days no one would dare use a typewriter while the president was talking because it was bulky and noisy. I heard that a silent typewriter was already developed in the 1940s but it failed. But really, why should you write in your laptop during a press briefing? You can’t understand your own writing? You can type faster? Come to think of it why not text your stories instead? Your news agency believe that “as of presstime” is so 20th century that they need to get a summary now, now, now? But TV can do that better so I see no urgency there. Most TV anchors stopped placing a laptop in front of them while broadcasting because who are they fooling? Oh I get it, you are using your laptop during the presidential press conference because you are surfing for Katrina Halili or watching baseball on GameChannel. You are forgiven. No? Or maybe you watched CNN or BBC and you saw some reporters with their laptops in a press conference. Look again, they are the dorks. You must be so lucky to be one. But you don’t need to be a reporter with a laptop to be a dork. Just act shtooopid.

When I was teaching in La Salle, someone brought out a laptop during my lecture.

So I simply wrote lots of mathematical notations like root, integrator, long fractions....and erased it before moving to the next.....Try and type that on your laptop, beyatch.
