The Inconvenient Tree

Tom Ewing, faculty advisor of the University of Baguio, is now on a crusade to save a pine tree along Assumption Rd. The Saint Louis University is constructing a building in the area and that one tree (Ewing calls it a msgnificently healthy tree) is getting in the way. Ewing wrote a Letter to the Editor last April 28 and was able to get 1,000 signatures for it. He got Mayor Peter Rey Bautista as an ally. Bautista, of course, owns UB and SLU is a friendly rival. But it's not about UB vs SLU. This is Tom Ewing vs Fr. Jesse Hechenova. Mayor Bautista said SLU could not cut that tree for development. SLU said, OK and entombed the tree. Ewing now has a website for that tree and wants you all to look at it. Here is it. There's even a video.

Ugh, underhanded tactics by SLU. Shame on them....

Either SLU is now populated by dumb people or liars.
