Laos is Da Bomb

Laos is the most heavily bombed nation in the world per capita. Thanks to the freedom-loving Americans. At least 2 million tons of “ordnance” dropped from 1964 to 1973. Of these, almost a third did not detonate. Even now, there are Laotian people getting “bombed” because of this Uxos (Unexploded Ordnance). The Mines Advisory Group is helping Laos find these Uxos. Look for them in maginternational.org. In the northeastern part of the country can be found the Viengxay Caves which is a hidden city where 20,000 people were sheltered while the Americans were bombing them during the Pathet Lao (Lao revolutionary movement). In 1973, Viengxay became the capital of the liberated zone. You can also help those who were maimed by “da bombs.” There are even children who lost limbs because they scavenge for scrap metals.
