Free Film Workshop. Also Free Condoms

The Forum for Family Planning and Development Inc., will conduct a three-day workshop on script development and reproductive health issues. The workshop aims to equip its participants with the critical tools that would sharpen their creative capabilities and subject positions as film students, scriptwriters and filmmakers. It hopes to educate them with the prevalent and persistent problems of reproductive health and family planning (issues such as HIV and child labor) in the country as one of the key factors that causes overpopulation, poverty and health problems. With this advocacy, the participants are encouraged to incorporate and integrate these issues in their film/scripts in order to awaken and educate the majority of the populace through the visual medium.Film scholars and writers would serve as speakers and facilitators in the three-day workshop that will be held from September 19-21 at the Orient Hotel in Malate. Interested participants are required to submit a one-page concept paper/storyline that would undergo a screening process. The concept paper/storyline does not necessarily have to be inclined to reproductive health issues. Only 15 participants would be accepted. The workshop is for free. Hotel and food accommodation would be shouldered by the NGO. Interested students, teachers, scriptwriters and filmmakers may submit their concept paper/storyline to The deadline for the submission is on September 13.
