Capitalism and Anti-Theology

"Walter Benjamin called capitalism “a religion of destruction.” It is a religion based on faith – untested and unfounded by the individual acolyte – in materialism and rationalism. It is a passive worldview, a negative theology. Even in the 1920s, Benjamin recognized “the destruction of the world as the real goal of world capitalism – its system, hopes and transcendent ideal.” Daniel Pinchbeck, Breaking Open the Head

palagay ko hindi goal ng capitalism ang destruction of the world. mas collateral damage pa siguro ang tingin nila sa destruction ng mundo. kapalit ng accumulation ng pera. anyway, gusto ko pa rin mabasa itong si W. Benjamin. ka-anu-anu kaya nya si Benjamin A.?
