Hey did you hear about A-Rod and Madonna? Alex Rodriguez, whose income is almost equal to the annual budget of one of our departments, has separated from his wife, Cynthia, according to a magazine, and is now reportedly (the adverb that soberly says, "I may be wrong but doesn't it sound incredible?") cuddling up with Madonna, who is 17 years older. That puts one up over teammate Derek Jeter who was rumored with Mariah Carey, the bimbo who does not deserve a single name. A-Rod is the number one vote-getter for the All Stars next week and Jeter is second. By the way, Jeter was also voted as the most overrated by his peers and yet the 2nd (after A-Rod) chosen by the same peers as the player to build a team on. Yet the Yankees where are now in are 8 games behind Tampa Bay Devil Rays, whose total income is equal to A-Rod's. Reigning champion Boston is 3 games behind. And speaking of All Star, it seems like Ichiro (another person deserving of a single-name recognition) is set to clinch another roster in the outfield. And surprisingly, the Mariners are now NOT the cellar-dweller. They are on a 7-3 roll (depending on their game later) and Ichiro scored 5 out of 5 and 3 out of 3 on his last three games, raising his average to above .300 for the first time this year. And finally Kim Ng, assistant GM of the Dodgers, may just be the first woman (and Asian) to become GM on her own merit. Give her the ball!!!
