Books in the Ukay-Ukay
I'm not talking about Booksale or Diplomat or Bound or Pages for Less or other bookstores. I'm talking about stores where they sell only ukay-ukay clothes, shoes and whatnot. Sometimes they do have books. Now this is the weird part. The sellers sometimes don't know squat about these books so sometimes they sell them so low (be quiet and grab) or ridiculously high because they don't know squat nga. So you haggle or tell them what junk they are. Some are indeed junk. Potboilers and what not which you buy in Booksale by the kilo. But since HK is British, you get lucky with obscure ones which you won't see in Booksale. I bought these in Bayanihan , Harrison and U-Need in Baguio in the past month. None for more than P100. Most at P60. "Highways to a War" was immediately stolen.
