Baptism
I stood as godfather of a son of a former cultural worker at the Cordillera Resource Center. My godchild is seven-year-old Basi Leon and he was baptized at the Church of Resurrection, an Episcopal Church. A running bride (or groom) is a favorite movie theme but how about the whole baptism entourage being made to wait because the godchild -- and only the godchild -- is not around? It turned out Basi went to urinate and when he was out, he and two other children (and their godparents) were called at the altar. So for about ten minutes, the baptism was put on hold as everybody waited for the boy to arrive.
